This task is dedicated to models and modelling. Various types of models will be discussed and analysed, and attention will also be paid to the applicability of models.

The case of disruption of coastal waters as a result of excess nutrients (in particular: nitrogen and phosphorus) will be used as an example in this task. This excess of nutrients leads to disruption of ecosystems. In particular, the excess of nutrients may lead to algal bloom. The high prevalence of algae may result in discoloration of the water and impacts other beings inhabiting it.
